Roobuck offers a comprehensive WiFi Tracking and Signalling system for Underground Hardrock Mines that operates on both conventional WiFi and Cisco compliant WiFi Networks. The system design focus is for safety and operations that include the capability for emergency management, zone management, traffic management, IoT data capture and reporting and other applications.

WiFi Tracking - miners Cap Lamps, vehicles, tools, machinery (fixed or mobile)
Cap Lamp Two-way signalling - down-stream evacuation call or paging, up-stream panic call, other user defined signals
Zone management - blasting, explosives magazine, refuge chamber, workshop, crib room managed via the back-end software platform receiving positional data from the Cap Lamp or other tracking devices
Phone App - for onsite/offsite tracking, alert monitoring and reporting of Mine personnel and operations
Tracking software of your choice with API to Roobuck WiFi Tracking Cap Lamps; or integration to a Mine’s existing software platform
All devices are robust in IP65/IP67 designed for harsh environments
Most hardware is designed to intrinsic safety
3rd party legacy systems can be integrated to OVERwatch – hardwired or wireless
Network (Backhaul) Basic Infrastructure
Roobuck is a Cisco Partner, this enables us to arrange technology supply WiFi Controller, APs (Access Point), MSE (Mobility Services Engine) to compute tag locations, which is all designed to operate on a mine’s existing Cisco CCX compatible WiFi backhaul or Conventional Network. We recommend a “Mine scope out” with the option of a free “Cisco Network Audit” to verify systems status, design and WiFi coverage.
RN4E-W* Cordless WiFi Cap Lamp (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n + BT/BLE compliant)
A World First Next Generation IP67 Cordless Cap Lamp with functionality of tracking, duress and 2-way Signalling. Roobuck pioneered the Cordless Cap Lamp 10 years ago. Capabilities of this Cap Lamp include: tracking, down-stream evacuation alerts or paging, up-stream panic call, or other user defined signals. Accelerometer based motion sensor for indication of device movement. Hard reset, factory reset, and network activity indication can be implemented through the Cap Lamp for debug. The battery level and charging status are constantly monitored in the Control Centre. The Cap Lamp can be charged from a Roobuck 53, 35 or 8-unit Charging Bank and Single Unit Chargers.
RPT3-W1 Portable Belt/Asset Tag
RPT3-W1 Portable Belt/Asset Tag can be worn on the belt to track a miner or attached to a light vehicle, Machinery, Tools or other assets (fixed or mobile) tracking purposes. This is a Lithium rechargeable device and can be charged from any Roobuck Charging Bank for central management. (made to order – subject to MOQ).
To meet Customer preference; Roobuck can use any 3rd party nominated Enterprise System with tracking capability as the primary backend software system. Optionally, we can integrate to an existing tracking software system or make a recommendation for a suitable tracking solution from the market.
Typically, enterprise systems can be installed on the local network or remotely in Cloud infrastructure and offer a user interface via a standard web browser and is therefore accessible via any type of device including handheld devices (tablets) and smartphones applications. Typical features are:
