WATER PUMPS
  Amphibious/Submersible Sand Pumps

When dealing with discharging sand in large or middle scale mines and drainage enterprises, general slurry pumps will experience extreme difficulties and greatly shorten the service life, or even might be immediately damaged. The pump plays an important role when water with great density of sand and gravel are bursting out. To fulfil this harsh task, Qingwu developed and manufactured the worlds first submersible sand pump in early 1990's.
After two‑decade development and production, more than models of submersible sand pumps are available. We introduce two flame-proof models with overseas coal mine certificates. These products can be used for various sandladen drainage conditions featuring high head, long service life and rigorous design to deal with both water and sand. Certainly, it can easily pump slurry liquid, sewage and clear water.
Different from any other submersible pump, our sand pumps has emerged from water and become amphibian pumps. They can be used either under water or above water.

Features

High durability
The key parts are made in hard alloy in welded structure. For water mixed with solid particles, the lifetime is 5‑10 longer than a submersible slurry pump. It can operate in 10% solid concentration. A customised one can go up to 70% solid concentration.
Operation without water
The unique design allows submersible pumps to operate without water. There is no harm to the generator or the pump if water loading is lost. The drainage will be resumed after water is coming back. You do not need to monitor the operation and an automatic drainage is achieved
Both submersible and on‑shore installation
An amphibious pump can be installed as either a submersible or an on‑shore pump. This installation flexibility significantly increases the applications to meet the special requirements in various environments. It is considered as the further evolution of water pumps, after clear water pump, slurry pump and submersible sand pump.
Safety and flame‑proof

The rigorous welded generator is protected by a water compartment, a water discharging outlet, two safety valves, an air compartment, an oil compartment and a flame‑proof structure. This multiple protection completely eliminates any explosion possibility

Structure

The generator is set in an air chamber that is of a cup shape, and fixed in the water with the 'cup' bottom up and the mouth below to keep the air in the 'cup'. The stator rotor and the bearing set are arranged inside the 'cup' in advance. Then the axe of generator stretches out from the mouth of the 'cap'. This is just the generator model for our Submersible Sand‑Pump. With the protection of air chamber, the stator rotor, bearings and axial seal can avoid directly contacting with water and harmful materials like sand, acid, alkali, etc.
The casing ring and the impeller are made of horniness alloy to ensure the durability. The coil of the generator is a cast with heat‑resistant epoxy resin, solidified and sealed for further protection, safety and reliability.
The design of a new‑type impeller elevates the head of pump and avoids the internal stress. Special casing makes it easy to transport sand with the guide of water and improves the pump efficiency. The new structure makes it possible to separate gas and water and to run for a longer service life.

Typical Applications

Main Applications
Automatic drainage for large mechanization mines, purification of ore selection; washing coal, mill running, panning; clearing silt and well, mine water storage house, dredging up river pass and reservoir; cleanup waste slag and ash powder at thermoelectricity mill.

Other Applications
The drainage application for digging projects: vertical well digging; suspending drainage, pumping sand and mud slurry; underground demolishing projects; mine flat lane and oblique lane, tunnel for railway, culvert, underneath digging projects such as city subway, tunnel under river, underground reservoir, air‑raid protection project floor digging projects such as water conservancy, hydropower, bridge and civil project.
The rescue for disaster and emergency: flood prevention at any moment; a must device for underground construction; dealing with the sewage containing hard sediment and sand; dealing with the waste of nuclear.

Installation

1. Position

  • Suspended in the air
    (same as suspended pump)
  • Sitting on the ban
    (same as normal pump)
  • Sitting on buoyant raft
    (same as submersible pump)
  • Sitting on floor under shallow water
    (80% above water)
  • Sitting on floor under deep water
    (completely under water)
  • Suspended under water
    (same as suspended pump)

2. Suction lift: 5 1.5~3.5 meters
3. Tilt: < 30 degree
4. Water depth: < 2‑4 meters, (up to 80 meters for a customized product)

Installation Methods
1. Vertical installation ‑ connect the side inlet and the bottom valve with a hose and seal the bottom inlet with the cover.
Installed on the bank like a general pumps. It has following advantages over a submersible pump.

  • Easy to clean the blockage to filter ‑ only need to pull the filer net of bottom valve out of water.
  • Easy to increase suctioning sand area without need for moving the pump ‑ only need to drag the bottom valve filter net.
  • Convenient for routine monitoring ‑ obtain the abnormal information timely and conveniently, predict the trouble in time and maintain the reliable operation.
  • Easy for movement and installation
  • Much smaller chance to wet the motor

2. Suspending installation ‑ connect the bottom inlet and the bottom valve with a hose and seal side inlet with the cover.
Suspended in mining shaft, coal storage, drainage well, water well or any places hard to access.

3. Remove bottom valve to become a pump without bottom valve.
Sitting on a buoyant raft like a submersible pump, or sitting on the floor of a shallow pool. 80% is above water.
Size inlet is submerged in the water and be ready for drainage any time. There are two ways to do so ‑ for a small amount of trash, use the emergency filter net on the side inlet for drainage; for a large amount of trash, use the hose to connect the side inlet to the case filter net.
